Jobber

Kaleb has a new job (or jobber as he calls it): Emptying the dishwasher.
How do you think he did?

Firestation Trip

This morning we got to tour the fire station with a play group in town. Kaleb was so excited (and I was actually too!) It started off kinda slow, showing us the offices and talking and explaining a lot. Finally the fireman realized it was a bunch of 2-4 year old kids and he better cut it short :) One guy dressed up and let the kids come and touch him and see that he's not scary. Kaleb still wouldn't get near him. We went outside and saw the ambulances and firetrucks. They started the engines and took us for rides! I wasn't expecting that, especially getting to sit shot-gun! By this point, Kaleb was in shock. He kept repeating, "that fireman picked me up!" (to put him on my lap in the truck) It was a fun morning :) Oh, and I learned something new! A fire truck has the ladder, a fire engine has the water. Did I get that right?

Fun weekend again . . . . .

FOR BRAYDAN!! Yep, that's right. He got to go salmon fishing over in Sekiu with the Hoarkleys. He tried to convince me, "it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity." (yeah right) But I told him he better catch some big salmon or he can't go again. So he did well and caught two. They also caught some octopus at night, so I have some in my fridge now (yuck!)

While he was gone, I had fun working on more projects and going to probably the last garage sales of the year. (sniff). But it was a beautiful day and there were some good ones. I got Kaleb a whole box of dinosaurs for cheap and he was so excited. I told my friend when I got home and she said to hide them till Christmas. I knew she was right, but it was still hard to do! When he came downstairs from nap he looked around and asked, "where's my dinosaurs Mom?" I said, "I don't know, where did they go?" He spent the next hour looking for them. So sad! Finally he told me, "I think I left them at the garage sales."

Someday I'll finish one of my many projects and post pictures. But for now, here's one project: getting Kaleb to sing his ABC's on camera. He wouldn't do it for a long time, but we bribed him today.

So I mentioned earlier in a post that Eliza was crawling. This is what I meant by crawling.

Still no teeth. She was pretty crazy in church today. I made the mistake of wearing earrings and the whole time she was trying to rip them out. I'm always jealous of the little babies who sit nicely in laps, happily looking around. She doesn't sit still for one second. Constantly leaning forward, grabbing the bench in front, arching her back, standing up, sitting down, jumping, ripping the hymn book pages out . .. . . . . AGHH!! It's a good thing she's so darn cute. Sometimes she's so different than Kaleb. She will not take a binky and he was obsessed with it (maybe I was obsessed). She will not cuddle, like in the cradle hold. She screams if I try that maneuver. That's how I got Kaleb to sleep many times, rocking him in my arms. With her, I just lay her down when she's tired and walk away! Nice. I probably could've done that with kaleb, but I didn't know what i was doing :)

Kaleb story: Kaleb asked me one day, "Mom, you're a girl?" I'm like, "Yeah, I'm a girl and you're a boy." But then later I explained more cause he kept asking about it. "Mom's a woman and Dad's a man, you're a boy and Eliza's a girl." He seemed to grasp it pretty good. But the next day when Braydan was putting him to bed, all of the sudden Kaleb says, "Dad, I'm a woman." Braydan's like, "What?" Kaleb said it again, "I'm a woman!" Braydan then had to explain, "No, you're not a woman, you're a man like me!"

Fun Weekend

This past weekend was lots of fun! Friday was Emily's birthday so we went to the splash park in Snohomish. I think Kaleb might be traumatized from the cold shower thing cause he was NOT going in there without me! They have a fun sandbox area too and Eliza wanted to get down so bad and play so I relented. We got home from that and I finished Emily's cake for her surprise party, but we had to miss the party cause Braydan surprised me with tickets to WICKED!!! He bought them back in June, but we still didn't have first row seats by any means. At first when he told me I was like, "you spent $$!! on tickets to a play we both have never heard of?!!!" BUT, I'm so glad he did! It was AWESOME!!! If you ever get the chance, GO!! It was at the paramount theatre in Seattle (same place as Phantom). Braydan was a little worried when we got there at the ratio of girls to guys. But, chickflick or not, he enjoyed it too. We laughed a lot! It was really funny. The singing was awesome of course. And the costumes, props and everything was sweet! It's hard to describe, but here's the Youtube trailer link for it:

Saturday Braydan and Kaleb left early to go fishing with the Hoarkley's at Flowing Lake. They actually caught 2 fish this time! Maybe it's cause they actually had a boat. Kaleb was so excited to tell me when he came home! I probably should've went with them, but I was still tired from the night before and had lots to do. I did waste time and had fun taking more pictures of Eliza. I really didn't like how hers turned out so I tried myself. They mi ght not be the best quality, but at least she's smiling!

New Pics

So here's the picts we had done at Target when Alisha was here. I wish Eliza would've just smiled but she was freaked out by the lady. Her fingers are instant comfort so that's what she did when she knew I wasn't going to hold her.

Funny story about the clothes (or lack of clothes): That morning I was going through their closets and couldn't find anything I liked so I decided I'd just buy something there and put them in it. Well we got there early and looked and looked and I didn't like anything enough to buy! So we had like 2 minutes till we had to be there so I grabbed something for kaleb and Alisha put Eliza in the dress and we tucked the tags inside! So during Kaleb's turn, he was constantly itching under his arm where the tag was. "Mom, take my shirt off!" We think the lady probably saw Eliza's tags hanging out of her dress! LOL!! All well. Oh and don't worry. We put the clothes back when we were done! Let me know if you want a copy of any. I have extras.

Zions Camp

So this last weekend was a blast! We went to Zions Camp over on the peninsula with our friends the Bates. It's actually where our stake had girls camp this year so it's church property with lots of Book of Mormon names everywhere. We stayed in a cabin at camp Sariah . At first I had my doubts about our digs. Yep, that's garbage bags duct-taped around the mattresses. I had to keep reminding myself that we're camping and it's okay if it's ghetto. But I think the first night Sammy and I got like 2 hours of sleep. We were all afraid to move for fear of falling off the bunks. I was grateful for our shelter when it poured rain every night and we were warm and dry inside. The best part about it was the little fire place. Rodney had us roasting in there every morning. I loved that the camp provided all the fun stuff: ping-pong stuff, archery stuff, boats, every type of ball, firewood (that one they kinda stretched . . . ) The first day we headed for the lake and everyone swam except Eliza and I. They had row boats, peddle boats, and canoes. The guys tried fishing, but no luck. Actually they tried fishing every day, but never got a bite (unless you count beavers). Meanwhile our neighbors brought us cooked trout and even this little girl caught a fish.
I liked Mosiah's meadow too. It had lots of fun stuff, including this old tree house that I climbed with Kaleb probably 20 times. They had lots of obstacle course stuff too that we attempted :) I'm putting video of the rope swing even though it's embarrassing of me.

We did a lot of sitting around the fire and talking. It was hard for me to relax at first, but it was really nice. AND eating of course. I think I gained 10 lbs. eating junk food the whole time.

Eliza and Kaleb did pretty well. Kaleb is obsessed with fire. Even when we unpacked his little bag he brought, a pack of matches fell out. We're like, "Kaleb where did you get these?" He never fessed-up. He, along with the other men, had some serious gas problems! One time he let one rip by the fire and Rodney asked," Kaleb, what was that?" Kaleb looked around and said, "that's a squirrel" He blamed it on that every time after.

Eliza kinda wore me out not being able to put her down anywhere except her playpen. She wanted to be down crawling! But we all took our turns holding her and keeping her happy.

One last video. It's probably the best video ever. Not only do I have scary hair, but if you watch close, I never hit even close to the target. And as you can see by my face, I'm really concentrating. I guess I'll have to rely on my nun chuck skills from now on.

Fair Time

Oh, the joys of the fair. I didn't really want to go this year, but I got sucked in. It's kinda hard to avoid when we live down the road from it. I asked Braydan if it was worth it when we got home and he said, "Ummm... no, not really." But we both agreed that Kaleb had fun and it's entertaining to watch him.
We saw lots of people from the ward. Dallin (a priest in Braydan's class) grabbed Kaleb and took him on the bear ride. He loved it. He tried to run back on for another ride when they were shutting the gate, but we caught him. As we walked around he asked to go on every ride.

I went to the ticket thingy probably 4 times and each time I couldn't bring myself to by tickets! I'm such a cheapo! I knew that I would have to pay for myself to go with Kaleb cause he can't go alone, so I never did get any. What's my problemo? The ticket guy probably thought I was nuts :)

What I also don't get is why I want to go pay money to look at animals that were in my backyard for 19 years. I found myself asking Braydan to take a picture of me holding a chicken!! What the heck!???

Wallace Falls

Braydan tries to take Kaleb to all the Tuesday night scout activities he can. A couple weeks ago they hiked Wallace Falls and Kaleb went along. He loved it of course! ( i love the sign in the picture :) He's really excited to go camping tomorrow! All day he's been saying, "after I go to bed then I wake up then we go on a trip!"

I was released from YW last week after two + years in there, but change is good and I'm excited to go to relief society again. My new calling is awesome (I think it's made-up), but I'm the R.S. newsletter specialist :)
Well, I'll have to catch up more later. Braydan has our little camera that has pictures of the fair and his super activity and other stuff (he's at his first sea hawks football game tonight) He owes me :)

I just have to write these two funny things down that happened today.

1. I was asking Kaleb how old he is, what his name is, what's Mommy's name, etc....But when I asked what Daddy's name is, he said, "Dear!"

2. I was taking Kaleb potty and sat down by him on a stool with Eliza on my lap. I was deep in thought and just going through the motions of things and didn't even notice he jumped off the potty and was done. I mechanically picked up his underwear off the floor and started putting them on Eliza. It didn't hit me until I realized they were really snug around the thighs! I started laughing so hard I think I scared Eliza :) Kaleb didn't care, he just wanted his underwear back!
