I'm getting old!

I got spoiled on my birthday!  I didn't have to make breakfast or clean up!  I got to go shopping all morning WITH NO KIDS!  So fun.  I grabbed lunch and headed home because it was a beautiful day and I didn't want to waste the whole thing shopping :-)  They were working on a coffee table surprise for me.  It's still not done yet but I'm hoping it will be soon!  (I'll take pictures :-)
Jane's new stance :-)  I love it!
Normally I would feel bad asking Braydan to get all our bikes fixed up (almost all the tires were flat from winter) and loaded for a family bike ride, but for my birthday, I asked :-)

Crossing the bridge and staring into the sun makes a great picture!
And after an hour of work, we were ready to go!  So fun to have a big truck to load everyone and bikes up!

We played at the park after and enjoyed the warm sun!

I got delicious shrimp curry for dinner (made by Braydan!) and costco chocolate mouse tuxedo cake!  Yum!!

We ended the day with the girls brushing and playing with my hair--my favorite! And the best: I didn't have to clean up dinner!  Instead I read my book and put my feet up!  HEAVEN!

Isaac is 1!!!

I can't believe this sweet boy is 1!  It should be more of a party for me that I survived the first year!  Ha!  We've shared many long nights together, teething together, lots of diapers and nursing and tickles and baby food experimenting and I wish I could say naps together, but that's a little one-sided :-)  He is learning so much every day!  Just in the last month he's learn to clap, stand up in his crib, crawl, offer me toys (and then take them back!)

His favorite toy, the dishwahser :-)

So helpful!  Unloading glass things and throwing them on the floor!
His birthday was mostly a normal day.  Except I was really nice and took him in for his 1 year well-child check and shots.  He was not impressed with the whole ordeal.  They couldn't even weigh him because he wouldn't sit on the scale. He squirmed and screamed to get away from the nurse.  I finally had to weigh myself and then hold him so they could get the right numbers :-)  After the doctor looked in his mouth, he handed the stick to Isaac to play with.  Isaac snatched it and threw it back at the doctor!  LOL!  He was ticked-off with everyone touching him and bugging him :-)  I had to hold him down for shots and the nurse brought in a helper so they could hold his legs down!
So exicted for his party!  Not really :-)  But the kids were and it even motivated them to not drag their feet for clearing the table job.

I got the kids each a little toy they could wrap up for him.  I spent nothing because I've traded in so much at this kids store.

Isaac wasn't impressed with my sibling photo idea :-)

At first he just poked the cupcake with his finger.  Then Kaleb picked it up and gave him a taste and set it back down.  He's a smart boy!  He picked up the whole thing after that and shoved it in his mouth :-)
I love how he goes from crawling to sitting.  He doesn't really look where he's backing up his bum and sometimes tries to sit on the wall or toys or me!  He likes to eat pretty much everything now and does pretty good with 2.5 teeth.  He loves to play peek-a-boo. He likes his Mommy and cries when I hand him to Braydan :-)  That won't last long.

Kaleb's Bday

Kaleb is 11!  AGH!! He was very excited, even though I told him over and over he wasn't getting a machete, or a dog, or a tranquilizer gun....dream killer over here :-)

Instead he got a kindle fire!  Wahoo!  He was very suprised and said he never thought I would buy him an electronic anything. LOL.  I decided it would be a good incentive to get chores done faster and so far it's worked.
He played the morning on the kindle and outside with the new frisbee game.  And then it was time for lunch.
Can you guess where we are?  Jane is looking at the lobsters at Red Lobster, Kaleb's pick for bday lunch.  Spoiled!

Kaleb got shrimp and fish and free drinks from our nice waiter.

He also got free icecream, which I snuck bites from :-)  He was grateful they didn't sing to him.
After lunch, Kaleb wanted to go shooting with Braydan.  They missed 7 times, but had fun anyway.  I think the best part of his day was not doing chores and watching us do them for him.

I found some cute pictures on Braydan's phone.  They are oldies but goodies :-) Not sure where Kaleb is???

Game night and playing puzzles :-)

Saturday Kaleb planted all sorts of seeds!  He's excited for the garden.

Sunday was crisp, but sunny and we had early out because of conference.  So we went on a bike ride/walk to the pond.

2/11-2/17

Jane started Kindgergrow this week!  She likes it so far!  She was so cute laying out her outfit and packing her lunch like the big kids :-) She is super tired and cranky when she gets home though.  In fact, she sat down in the middle of the driveway and cried after getting off the bus one day.  Eliza told me and I ran out to carry her in.  Poor little baby is worn out :-)
Jane and friend Iris :-)

Monday we had a horrible dinner with Kaleb dropping a glass cup and cutting his hand open trying to catch it and then Jane stepping on glass and screaming as blood is dripping from her foot and then Eliza trying to help Isaac stop fussing by playing peek-a-boo under his highchair and accidentally knocking the tray off and it smacked her in the face and gave her a bloody lip and teeth bleeding.  Pretty much everyone was crying and Braydan was grumpy cause he didn't eat all day and he still couldn't eat because we were busy vacuuming glass up and bandaging bloody children!!!!

Tuesday was busy making Valentine boxes (because we waited until the last night).  Jane wanted a bday cake box and Kaleb did a gross skeleton head valentine box :-(
Kaleb designing his beautiful valentine box

We also were busy making slime in mass quantities to give for valentines.

Nice mom making slime
Their card said, "Will you be my valenslime?"  :-)  Earlier in the day, I was excited to visit Kaleb's class for his bday.  He was so embarrassed about all the attention.  He had to stand in the front and get asked 11 questions.  Poor kid.  His face was red and he paced side to side, but he was still adorable of course :-)  i brought ice cream bars because I couldn't afford to buy cupcakes for 40 kids!  I think they were happy with them.  I watched them play 4 corners a few rounds and then said Isaac and I could win.  And we did win!  The class thought it was hilarious and kept asking me how I won the first time i played :-)  Maybe I might be smarter than a 5th grader :-)  I tried to walk over to Kaleb's desk at one point, but I could tell that was too close and embarrassing for him, so I backed away and observed from the back. LOL!

All week we made love poems for each other for our family mailbox.
It takes me a few days to get into it, but by the end of the week, I love it!  The kids race to check the mailbox every day and the girls make piles of notes.
Kaleb not so much, but he did manage to write a few nice cards:-)

I started reading Narnia to help him get into it.  It's been fun to talk about it and hear him getting excited about what's going to happen.  Eliza finished Fablehaven series and before I could get her more books, she decided to read Harry Potter again!  She read the 1st one in a day.  And the 2nd one in 2 days!  She's almost done with the 3rd.  Crazy.

Thursday was the magic theme blue and gold banquet.  Kaleb didn't really want to go because he's 11 now (and too cool), but his leaders had awards for him and he missed last pack being sick.  We were to design a cake together so we had fun making a kit/kat and M&M archery cake for the competition.

Ours was the coolest!  Kaleb was worried I wouldn't get his arrow back from the cake, but I did :-) I can't believe Kaleb is done with cubscouts.  : (

Friday the kids had no school!  Yay!  Cassie took the girls for Mickayla's bday to a movie, lunch, and cupcake shop.

They loved it and ate tons of junk! (they both had sick tummies later that day) I took the boys (daniel and Kaleb) to get pizza and the library.  I had a bunch of free book-it coupons and the boys at 4 pizzas!  They were so cute huddled together looking at gun and sword books they checked out at the library :-)  They also played the shark game on their kindles together, made wooden swords, played Frisbee, and played bball.

Saturday we cleaned the church and asked if Jacob and Rachel could come play.  Jane has been begging for her to come and she finally could!  Jane asked Eliza if she was sad that she didn't have a friend over.  Eliza laughed and said no.  She was finally free to read and draw and not have anyone bugging her to come play, come play (except for Isaac!)

Braydan worked on the bathroom, but Isaac's naps kept interupting him, so he finally went and tilled th garden instead :-)

Saturday night, we decided to swap babysitting with the Martinez family.  At first I didn't want to, but then I thought about the temple and how we haven't got to go together because one of us always stays with Isaac.  So, we tried it out, watching all 5 of their kids!  And it went fine!  Even baby Ellen who they said is really fussy, was perfect.  She played, ate, and slept.  I don't think the kids liked my healthy dinner, but they ate it anyway when I said they could have a cookie :-)

Braydan finally got released today as ward mission leader! He's excited to be the new 11 year old scout leader.  I'm excited he won't have tons of meetings and can be with Kaleb and help the boys.  They are kinda wild: Nixon, Brock, Ryan, Blythe, Kaleb, Braedon, and Jacob :-)

 Plus...he has this little guy!

Arizona

Such a fun trip!  This is just half of the pictures, but it's a good start :-)

Isaac catching a nap on the plane.  I was jealous because we had to leave at 5am to catch our plane!

These 2 goofs sat in front of us and read their Fablehaven books the whole time.

Jane had to take her puppy for the ride.  And her blankie of course.  She loved looking out the window of the plane and asked when the plane was going to drop us off at Grandma's stop :-)  I like her idea of the plane being more like a bus.

Cute cousins. We went to a restaurant across from the temple one night and then went to see the amazing lights at the visitors center.  Loved it. Temple pictures must be on braydan's phone :-)

The troop at the zoo.  This day was so fun seeing all the animals and cousins together.  I loved the perfect weather, walking, and sun on my face.

Such a cool zoo.  Loved watching this giant tortoise walk.

All the different cactus plants were so fun to admire

One day we went to San Tan mountain area and did a hike together.  I loved it!  These boys were mountain goats exploring off the trail where they probably weren't supposed to.....

Half of our group headed back when the trail started to get steep.  Jane went back with Grandma and Grandpa and I thought Eliza would turn around for sure, but she wanted to keep going!  And she didn't complain!  Maybe there's hope for more family adventures with our delicate girls :-)

Resting at the top!  The sun felt so nice and a sweet breeze cooled us down.

Boys at the top!

These girls had so much fun playing together!

Grandma made play-dough for the girls and they had a blast "cooking" us whatever we wanted.

New Years Day was one of Braydan's favorites.  Football, puzzles, good food, games.

Eliza working on a puzzle

On the 2nd, we celebrated Eliza Sue!  She had a spoiled, fun day!  Crepes for breakfast, with her own carton of raspberries.

She got a new lunchbox, water bottle, game, markers, art thing, and her favorite: roller blades!

The boys playing with Isaac.  Gavin was especially cute with him.

One of the kids favorite things was making bag mats for homeless people with Grandma.  We all had a job to help.  Eliza wanted to even work on it on her bday.

Eliza trying out her rollerblades with Ashley and Jane helping her out :-)

We spent a lot of bonding time in the car on the way to all our adventures.  The only time it didn't go so well happened to be on Eliza's bday when Jane puked on her.  Memories!

For her bday, we went to Urban Jungle!  Such a cool place.  Rock climbing, trampolines, obstacle courses, balls, et.

After urban jungle place and a park, we headed to Organ-Stop pizza.  Coolest place ever!

I'll have to add more pictures and video off braydan's phone later.  But it was a neat place!

I think Wednesday morning, we did another favorite: Served with Grandma at Feed My Starving Children place.  Here's all the kids getting instructions with their hairnets on and ready to work

After service morning, we headed to the Natural History museum. Loved this place.

Kaleb and Mr. Mammoth

Just walking under a Brontosaurus

Outside, they had an old west section where kids can pan for gold.  I had to drag them away!  They were obsessed!

Playing games with Grandpa :-)

Thursday morning we went to an awesome art museum that was dedicated to western/native american art

I'll have to add more pictures later!
