Kaleb had a Christmas concert at his preschool Friday night. He didn't want to go, but was willing when we told him he could have lots of cookies after.
Picking his nose was way more exciting than singing Away in a Manger.
Last weekend was fun with our ward Christmas party and getting our tree. We went with the Dyers and it was a beautiful sunny day.
Kaleb was so excited. He kept saying, "we're gonna get a humongous tree for Jesus's birthday party!"
Eliza was excited for the free candy cane.

Braydan put lights on the house and then we left for the ward party. I was nervous for our primary skit, but it turned out cute. Just wish we would've practiced how to end it. Also wish Kaleb was in it. In a few more weeks, he really will be!
Thanksgiving
Despite not having any family this year, we had a nice Thanksgiving. The partying started early with all the snow Monday. Nobody went to work or school all week. It was so fun to have Braydan home, to relax and have snowball fights with the neighbors.
The kids couldn't stop looking at the snow, but they surprised me by not wanting to go out and play in it. (Sadly I didn't take a picture when it was at deep)
Thanksgiving morning I went to the gym with Emily and Angie for a fun Zumba workout. Then we had a breakfast at the Adams. All the guys had fun teasing us about Zumba.
The Brinkley family invited us for Thanksgiving dinner and they spoiled us good.
She went and bought toys and markers and paper for the kids to be entertained. So sweet.
We came to our house after for pie and played the "name game". So funny! Matt was pretty awesome with his Laura Ingall's impression. Friday I wasn't a crazy shopper, but I did leave before 7. I did a typical Jessica thing. I went to Target and thought I got really great deals on clothes for the kids, but then went to Oshkosh with all my coupons and got better deals, so I went back to Target and returned it all. I annoy myself sometimes.
I asked Braydan to build a mantel for my Christmas present and he got it done in a few hours one day. I love it and can't wait to hang the stockings up.

Saturday Josh and Kara came for a visit. He brought us 25 lbs of meat, mostly steak. He's my hero! Thank you brother! It was nice to see them.
We are thankful for so many things this year. Here's our family list we made at FHE: hugs, Jesus, fires, zumba, primary, family, Daddy's job, books, spray on your hair(???), reading words, kiddos, playing the computer, phones, blankies, pencils, helping our family vacuum, paper, crayons, netflix, blueberries, porcupines and Christmas, home, slippers, dishwasher, Heavenly Father, teddy bears, baths, water, pictures, couches, friends and neighbors, missionaries, pirate's booty, scriptures and prophets, work, music, running, mountains, buttermilk syrup, steak, kids not fighting, fred meyers, and last but not least, ice cream.
Does anyone else have FHE's like this?
Another week gone by and I'm trying to remember what happened.
1. LOTS of laundry. Washer fixed = lots of laundry
2. Cleaned like I'm OCD for the appraisal.
3. Went to Zumba. . . . . and wished I was at Zumba when I was not at Zumba
4. Game night/ Date night
5. Crazy project morning finishing Christmas presents with friends. Tina even came!
6. Little Italy Auction at Kaleb's school. I volunteered to be a server and got a workout. I carried hors d'oeuvres and plates for 4 hours straight in heels and could hardly walk by the time I got home. They raised over $30,000. I couldn't believe how generous people were and how fancy it all was. I was glad to serve instead of paying money for tickets and dressing up, and having to bid all night. Plus, my dinner was FREE. . . . and cold by the time I got to eat.
7. Had a family game night of: duck duck goose, red light green light, mother may I, red rover, and of course, tag.
8. Primary Program. Got released as 2nd counselor and called as 1st counselor
9. Christmas pictures done
10. Made this "keep" recipe. We fed lots of people this week---Maha and Allen, missionaries, and brought dinner---so I was bound to find a keep recipe with all the cooking. I love my curries. This one is up there with my other favorite.

I didn't take these pics, so I'm wondering how they got 14 three year olds to cooperate. I can't even get one to!
Thank you list for helping me remember my week. I love lists :)
1. It was beautiful fall weather this week. We had fun raking leaves and jumping in them. I had to resist the urge to dump them in the garbage bin and check it off my list, but I did good. Kaleb's little cheeks were bright red from working so hard.
All tired out!
2. I finally got a gym membership (kinda got burned on running), and have a new love: ZUMBA!! It's so addicting, I think I have a permanent smile on my face (or maybe I'm laughing at myself) the whole time. The hour goes by too fast. Eliza screams when I leave her in the play area, but is fine after a minute. I really need to take them swimming because they race to look at the pool before and after class.
3. Super Saturday. Always a fun day to craft and visit with friends. I'm excited to work on my projects that I didn't finish this week.
4. Temple Night always helps me put things in perspective. We got to meet after and have ice cream with everyone. Even though it was Friday, it was the first chance I had to really talk to Braydan on the drive there and home.
5. The kids fighting over who gets to give me kisses. I love their kisses and hugs. I love giving them piggy back rides and flips. Eliza likes to play with my hair lately and it feels like heaven. I love their compliments. The other day I was singing, and Eliza says, "That's a cool song mommy." I couldn't believe she said that! What a silly girl. She's so particular about some things. If I give her a cracker that's broke or slightly smaller than a regular, she won't eat it. She knows when I'm trying to skimp on her.

I had to use Braydan's camara on these desserts (sad), but I wanted to capture some of Cindy's artwork.
Dad even joined in on the donuts. It was a good way to end the weekend since it started out rough for Braydan. He had to work Saturday (weird), forgot his phone at his test, and while driving back to get it, got in a wreck, (he's fine), got a $200 ticket, and then discovered his laptop didn't work. His computer was in the wreck, so maybe that's why it broke? Either way, it was a bad karma day for him. I love Sunday nights as a family, playing around the cozy fire. Sounds safe right?
